President Barack Obama’s administration threatened to veto a measure by Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul that would block Environmental Protection Agency regulations aimed at curbing pollution from coal-fired electric plants.

The Office of Management and Budget said today in an e- mailed statement that Obama’s advisers would recommend he veto the measure if it clears Congress.
