Iran warns against any U.S. military attack on the country: president
Edited on Tue Nov-08-11 02:51 PM by The Northerner
TEHRAN, Nov. 8 (Xinhua) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned on Tuesday against any U.S. military attack on the country, the local Mehr news agency reported.

If the United States stands against the Islamic Republic, the response of the Iranian nation will make it regret what it did, Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.

Ahmadinejad criticized the U.S. government for making allegations against Tehran over its nuclear program, saying that " today, the U.S. government is audaciously accusing Iran of developing nuclear weapons while itself possesses 5,000 atomic bombs."

The annual budget that Iran has allocated to nuclear research is about 250 million U.S. dollars while "U.S. President (Barack Obama), this year, allocated 81 billion U.S. dollars to modernize the country's atomic bombs in addition to national budget," he said according to the report.

1. We. Cannot go. To Iran.
Can't afford it, for one thing. It would provoke global thermonuclear war for another. Destroy what is left of our reputation in the international community, if there was any community left by that point.

2. It's very very concerning. I'm no expert, but it seems in history major wars
can be reduced down to one attack that instigated and was a catalyst for major global wars. IMO the tension in the world today is incredible and the reality of what coalitions might develop and the consequences are not all known. That said, I don't know what the Iranian solution is, but that it's all very concerning.
