Regardless of Bialek's claims, Cain is in the awkward place of having witnesses say his statement isn't true.

Consequently I am not sure how anyone could attribute motives, such as 'she was about to accuse him'.

I can offer a speculative alternative scenario, with absolutely NOTHING to back it up, (which is intended to support the notion that we must keep our minds open to the possibilities of all alternative scenarios), Bialek might have been motivated to do a tell-all after Cain got high-and-mighty about NEVER having done anything that could be called sexual harrassment. IOW it's possible that she made up her mind about telling her story after Cain went into universal denial mode. But, I've got nothing to suggest that Bialek had any particular motivation.

I do have evidence from a credible publisher that Cain isn't telling the truth. And that raises that nagging bugaboo: Why wouldn't he want to tell the truth about knowing Bialek?

I suspect that's the part of the story that's gonna get chased.

could this woman be intent on "helping" Cain by making a statement that is basically false so that the other women will be looked upon as making false statements too?
