1. There was a little bit of a line
for me at 6:30 am. About a 10 minute wait. Live in a small conservative town, mostly Republican, but lots of teachers, firemen, etc. in line.

2. I voted about 1:30 PM
No line to speak of, but a constant stream of voters arriving at the polling place.

3. I'm on my way...
but my friend (a DUer) is working the polls nearby and she called on break to say turnout is high. She's seen a lot of "Vote No" shirts & buttons. Granted, this is dark blue NE Ohio, but she sounded optimistic.

4. about 40% of the voters will vote absentee....
Those votes will be run as soon as the polls close so there should be some good numbers by 8:00 or 8:30.

The turnout won't be a large as say 2009 because that year, mayors across the state were up. In 2011, a lot of mayors will not be on the line. The only thing pulling people to the vote are the three state issues.

5. Hubby and I both voted absentee a week ago.....
so I haven't been to a polling place. However, a volunteer from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections came knocking on the door about an hour and a half ago to make sure we got out and voted - we got to chatting and she said of all the doors she's knocked on in her areas, only two people said they have already or are going to vote "Yes on 2" - the rest were a hearty "No"!

Sounds good to me, but then again, this is a heavily "Blue" area. Folks have come around knocking on doors several times in the past couple of weeks urging folks to vote "No on 2".

Will keep you updated as I hear more.....

:)

7. Steady in my precinct...
though it's a precinct of conservative and elderly voters. There have been a lot of No on 2 signs all over, so I'm not sure what to make of it.

8. Not Bad
I voted a little after 4:00, so I didn't expect too many people. There were about 5 people voting, and another 5 waiting in line. Being the nosy person that I am, I asked about turnout. The poll worker said that she felt it was pretty heavy for an off-year. Also, I checked out the book when I signed in, and from what I could see about 15-20% were marked that they had received absentee ballots. Obviously, I could only see a couple pages, and who knows how many returned the ballots.

I'm cautiously optimistic.
