Diane Sawyer's 20/20 Special on Mark Kelly and Gabrielle Giffords
Edited on Tue Jan-18-11 11:19 PM by PBS Poll-435

I caught it about 15 minutes in to the 1 hour program.

What an amazing partnership. I continue to hope and pray for a full recovery.

1. Let's pray that this lovely couple have a happy ending
with a long, happy and productive life together.

2. I started crying when they showed he was wearing a little pink baseball
pin on his jacket for Christina Taylor Green. And then he talked about when it would be the right moment to tell Gabby of those who died.

I'm so glad Gabby has Mark and they have each other. That man is a gem!

3. This is one thing I hate about our media-
their desire to make each story a fairy tale. This is an ordinary (fairly) couple thrust into extraordinary circumstances. They are dealing with enough without also having to carry the burden of being a media created fairy tale fantasy couple. They will live out their lives as best they can, as we all do, but now they have this fantasy to live up to. It's not helpful and it's not truthful. This may be media's bread and butter, but it doesn't make it right.
