What a joke. (Yeah, yet another Cain comment) |
|
But what a joke...
Cain plays the defiant victim. Blames the 'Democrat machine' for enlisting a 'troubled woman' to derail his campaign. Speaks of himself in the third person. Steps away from the specific points at hand if not the reality of it all...sort of sad, I guess. And embarrassing to watch.
I feel for the talking heads who were called to comment after the presser. None could, or would, call it bluntly like it is - a poor attempt at a sleight of hand misdirection. Or more bluntly - a joke.

1. He said something about .. before these allegations "came to light" ... |
|
isn't that what is usually said about "the truth?" Lies don't "come to light" do they?

3. Cain isn't willing to accept that he's done anything wrong. That's why these |
|
huge Freudian slips keeps spilling out. The damage control sessions should be halted by the Koch Bros, if they still want him to run.

16. Cain's wording is often inappropriate. Not someone you'd want making a speech to the UN, for sure.nt |

7. It's all pretty bizarre, no? |

I just shake my head and move on, for the most part. No one in this (R) field's going to beat Obama in 2012. The party of no and simplistic jingoism just doesn't cut it. I think Obama will do fine come the vote. I'm putting some efforts into Congressional races - we need to recover some ground there.

8. Precisely - there are lots of insane people in the world |
|
but why make one of them your party's frontrunner? If Cain is unfortunately mentally deranged, the scandal says as much about the Republican Party and their values as it does about him.

The only difference with Cain was that he was at least entertaining, until now.

12. I've often thought that none of these could possibly be serious contenders. |

If they actually manage to find one, there's no point in bringing him/her out now, since they are bound to lose. ;) :hi:

Even if they found a Eisenhower type Republican, they would probably mock him and drive him out of the party.

15. Hey, compared to this crew, Goldwater is a left-wing liberal! |
|
Eisenhower warned about the military industrial complex and Goldwater warned about the religious right. These days, that's what being a Republican means... x(

14. Rachel Maddow was right. This isn't a candidacy. It's performance art. |
|
Cain is just another grifter, trying to increase the value of his future speaking fees. Nothing more.
It's time everyone realizes that.
