Occupy protesters interrupt sheriff's sale
3:20 PM, Nov. 8, 2011
One of six Occupy Delaware members holding signs at a New Castle County sheriff's sale this morning interrupted an auction and gave a brief speech asking for a moratorium on sales of foreclosed homes this morning.
Holding a sign, occupy member Michelle Ievoli asked for an "immediate halt" of foreclosed homes until "an independent party with experience and expertise in this area could review on a case by case each sale to ensure that Delaware property owners are not a victim of malicious or irresponsible lending."
After her speech, the audience was asked to refrain from interruptions.
Ievoli returned to the back of the room where five other occupy members had been standing since 10:15 a.m. holding signs.
