The rich don't pay off the politicians to get tax rates reduced, they pay to get their special
exemption through tax loopholes.

If you raise the rates you just get the schmucks who have no access.

The key is the loopholes.

1. especially
health care execs, 85% of their income is way to much to spend on actual patient care.... they need bigger bonuses.

2. They 'pay off' for all sorts of things...

dashing regulation, preferential trade agreements, all sorts of things including reduction of tax rates. Their money can buy most anything. That ain't no key, it won't even get you in the front yard.

3. But the point being that its a special favor specific to whatever the donor wants.
Why would a rich person want everyone to get a tax break if their true buying power lies in how much more they have than the other guy?

4. If the legislation is targeted...

be it rates, loopholes. whatever, it serves them well enough. One percent of 1K is no big deal. one percent of 1B is something else, the differential more than serves the purpose.
