Ohio Republicans don't understand no; They still want SB 5
http://www.cleveland.com/politics/index.ssf/2011/11/ohio_voters_overwhelmingly_rej.html

"More proof the Republicans knew they would lose: they have already started working on a back-up plan. House Speaker William G. Batchelder
told reporters last week to expect pieces of the 300-page law to re-emerge early next year as standalone bills."

*********************************

I kind of hope they try this crap because more people voted to kill SB 5 in 2011 then voted for John Kasich as Governor in 2010.

7. And 2011 was an off off year election
This is an example of why the repugs have to "game the system" in Ohio ..... We are the majority

4. I am sure that A.L.E.C. has a triage team on the problem
I know that the image of the conservative includes steadfast opposition, but the monthly ALEC newsletters must be very good propaganda sheets for representatives to believe in the goodness of sticking those things back in the faces of an electorate that has rejected them.

8. Using the same Republicans logic they used after Obama's overwhelmingly large electoral victory
It isn't that the people didn't want SB5, they wanted it stronger.. They wanted it to completely eliminate Unions not just restrict their bargaining power..

13. Kasich: “They might’ve said it was too much too soon,”
http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/local/2011/11/08/1-issue-2-election.html

So although more votes were cast in an off year election to defeat SB5 than put Kasich in office, the repugs are not seeing this as an overwhelming rejection of their draconian measure just "it was too much too soon". My guess is this battle is NOT over.

That said, Kasich's far overreach is a galvanizing factor to GOTV for the Dems.
