Tea Party: 'Occupy' protesters are 'mad at the wrong people'
On the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement:
The “Occupy” protesters “are mad at the wrong people," says Cosgray. "We’re not mad at the bankers… The Tea Party is mad at our politicians, our government. They are the ones that changed our country. I’m not saying there’s not crony capitalism —there is. … The real problem here is coming right from the White House and our Congress.”
Occupy protesters are “bizarre, very strange,” to Cosgray.
“I think (the Occupy movement) makes the Tea Party look a lot better. We’re not playing drums, masturbating on the street, or defecating on cars. I don’t think there’s anybody (out on the street) who is for American the way it was founded. They are like from another planet or something.
“The next time (Americans) see Tea Party groups holding a rally I think they’ll be, like, ‘Phew! Finally some people with common sense.’

1. one group is mad at the Bribers, the other group is mad at the Bribees
It's the system that lets this happen that should be to blame, smashed, and rebuilt again

55. Yes, Yes, YES!
For the love of God maybe we'll unite with the Tea Party to change the system one day. On THAT day, the 1% will know the game is up.

It's BOTH the major corporations and the government working together for the benefit of a very few elite.

Failure to blame either one is short sided since the individuals who comprise our elected officials tend to come FROM the major corporations and certainly end up going TO the major corporations (or become industry lobbyists) after they serve the financial elite.

We will never begin to change things in this country without changing the system. They'll always have an excuse and there will always be a rotating cast of villains.

If we ensure the system is set up so that legalized bribery in ANY form is illegal I think we'll be amazed how much of our agenda will get implemented.

If someone wants to serve THE PUBLIC, then they should be barred from EVER being a lobbyist, serving on the B.O.D. of multinationals, etc. Period.

The road to becoming wealthy should not be assured simply by becoming a public servant. This road necessarily ensures that most of these individuals will NOT serve the public's interests but their own.

14. It's all part of the Right-Wing propaganda against the Occupiers
To hear the Righties talk, the OWS crowd spends all their time peeing, pooping, and wanking in public.

You'd think if these acts were as prevalent as they tell, you could find at least one video online.

Please be realistic about what is going on, especially in NYC. Crime, vandalism, drugs etc... are all there in some way, form or fashion and frankly I expect those numbers to increase as both the homeless and the criminal element center in on an exploitable situation.

60. since my original reply...
I have this song running in my head:

Callin' out around the world, are you ready for a brand new beat?
Summer's here and the time is right for 'bating in the street.
'bating in Chicago (bating in the street)
Down in New Orleans ('bating in the street)
In New York City

All we need is music, sweet music,
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin' swayin', and records playin,
'bating in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear, just as long as you are there.
So come on every guy, grab a girl,
Everywhere, around the world

There'll be 'bating, they're 'bating in the street.
This is an invitation, across the nation,
A chance for folks to meet.
There'll be laughin' singin', and music swingin'
'bating in the street

Philadelphia P.A., Baltimore and D.C now,
Can't forget the motor city,
All we need is music, sweet music
There'll be music everywhere
There'll be swingin' swayin', and records playin,
'bating in the street

Oh it doesn't matter what you wear, just as long as you are there.
So come on every guy, grab a girl,
Everywhere, around the world

They're 'bating, 'bating in the street
Way down in L.A., every day they're 'bating in the street
Lets form a big strong line, and get in time,
We're 'bating in the street.
Across the ocean blue, me and you
We're 'bating n the street

Destroying thirty years of right wing propaganda aimed at making people distrust their government and cheer dismantling the rules that gave the 99 percent a chance at a decent living and the programs that supported our most vulnerable citizens.

Corporate Corruption can not be tolerated. The people need to reclaim their government here in the us and everywhere.

You hit the nail on the head. Now, what should we hit the teabaggers in the head with for them to see that this is WHY they are mad at government? They will say it is because the government is too "liberal", like they weren't paying attention to what happened during the bush/cheny reign.

Thanks for your very eloquent words!

21. Well I have to agree
the Wall streeters and bankers couldn't get away with what they do if they didn't have a bought and paid for Congress to enable them. I really believe the Teabaggers and WS Occupiers are suffering from the same disillusionment. The Teabaggers were were just hijacked by the Koch brothers and other people who are manipulating their mindset.

Granted that many of the Teabaggers are grounded in racism and ignorance but they are suffering just like the rest of us. If we could only bridge that gap and join together to change Congress for the better. But getting teabaggers and a few DU'ers to think objectively may be close to impossible.
I just keep thinking the disgust both sides are feeling comes from the same place.

Most of them are part of the 99% and are suffering too. And the blame lies with both the "1%" who have corrupted the political process and the politicians who have played along.

25. The Koch brothers and their ilk are the ones doing the
conning. And as far as Congress being compliant, that's what they're PAID to be. BY the Koch brothers and their ilk. In the dictatorship of capital do NOT make the mistake of thinking that the ones on the stage are the directors of the play. All the actors do is recite the lines while the REAL bosses write the script.

If for NO OTHER REASON THAN THIS, the Occupy movement deserves our thanks for bringing this FACT to the attention of the public.

The people I am made at are this dimwitted supporters of the Tea Party who have their head so far up their asses they don't know what they are doing or who they are supporting. They claim the government is 'corrupt' and yet they elected a bunch of dumbass people to congress who who spend every day trying to figuratively suckle the balls of their corporate sponsors like the Koch Brothers.

This last election was just a minor wakeup call that alot of voters didn't have a clue what the tea part was about or who they were supporting and now alot of voters have 'buyers remorse'.

I think we are seeing the death of the Tea Party - thank goodness!

bottle. The capitalist exploiters have ALWAYS tried to keep people's attention off of the connection between economics, politics, and power because when that connection is made the TRUE reason (wealth accumulation) for the laws enacted BY the politicians becomes clear. It's not to benefit the 99%. In the dictatorship of capital, EVERYTHING that's done is to benefit the 1%.

So naturally the toadiest of the capitalist toadies, like Bachmann, Palin, and Buchanan are going to try and take the anger and frustration in a political direction. That's where the exploiters WANT it to be. On politics, NOT economics.

We'll see a WHOLE lot more of this in the next year or so. All the pols, centrist left and right, will be trying to bring the subject around to electoral politics and NOT economic disparity.
