OK City, Earthquakes and a friend of mine...
As you all know by now, Oklahoma City experienced several moderate earthquakes this past week.

So I rang up a buddy of mine who lives in Edmund.(just north of OK City).

He told me that Oklahoma City and it's area gets about 50 seismic events a year. This year? Over 1000.

Local news had a piece on it.

"But the weekend earthquakes were among the strongest yet in a state that has seen a dramatic, unexplained increase in seismic activity.

Oklahoma typically had about 50 earthquakes a year until 2009. Then the number spiked, and 1,047 quakes shook the state last year, prompting researchers to install seismographs in the area. Still, most of the earthquakes have been small."

Fracking? that's quite a jump in activity.

2. I have to admit it's my fault
Four years ago before anyone had heard of fracking, I bought a CNG van for my side business because I thought it was both fiscally and environmentally responsible.

However, in my defense, my small hometown supposedly has an Indian enchantment on it that says it will never be hit by a tornado. As the favorite son of Clearwater, Kansas, I'm sure I carry a piece of that enchantment with me, and thus Tulsa has not been hit by a tornado since I've moved here.
