I did it - I finally closed my Chase account |
|
I was a holdover from WaMu and I didn't want to go through all the fuss of contacting my work for direct deposit and changing the automatic withdrawals I have each month. But I finally did it. I took my money out on Saturday and moved it to a local CU. After the rest of my pendings cleared, I marched right in and closed the bank account on Tuesday. I was as polite as I could be (usually am when I am out in public). Of course, the woman who helped me was as nice as could be as well. I think she even leads a few classes at my gym. Made me think - the people working at the bank are part of the 99% too. I kinda felt badly, but know it is the best thing to do.

2. You said something very important at the end of your comments |
|
For people who do this please remember there are many 99% that do work for these banks. Being rude to them does not solve any problems.

5. When WaMu took over a bank where I had my account |
|
some years ago, I was so disheartened by their "in your face" customer service - a camera pointing at the line of customers, with the video viewable by everyone, id even for a deposit, that I moved to a smaller bank closer to home. The service is much more friendly; people remember who you are and greet you when you enter; I can make a deposit with a small cash-out with no id; if there are cameras they are not apparent; etc.
I am so glad that I did, after what has been revealed about WaMu. Eventually I moved my mortgage too, for a far better deal - before it all blew up.
When it looked as though the local bank was in trouble, I opened a Credit Union account as well, where I keep half of my few $.
I guess crass customer service reflects crass other dealings as well.

6. Yeah I did that a couple months ago. It was great. |
|
And I do sympathze with people that have to work there.
