Just made my 2nd trip to the local Target,,,, |
paying off the chrage card there. 1st trip I didn't have my wallet/id on me. WHen the service person put the check and the amount into the system, the system responded by asking for an ID. They said it was most likely because of the amount of the check. I told the person if I paid it online this would not happen. The 2nd trip produced the same request, from a different service person. I was kinda hoping the 1st service person did not know what they were doing. BUT, I was wrong. I gave them my ID, told them what I thought of Target's system. I reminded them online payments did not require my ID, and that it would most likely affect their jobs in the future. All I got back were blank stares,,,, And now Target in my area, is also selling grocery items. Not as many as the grocery chains, but enough to make a 1 trip stop. BUT, they are, as everyone knows non-union. More bottom line thinking and short term profit

1. You were paying by check. |
Of course they wanted an ID.
I use my Debt card as a charge card and don't have that problem.

3. I don't know... I really don't have a problem being asked for ID |
If I'm using a card or check, I do not really have a problem with it.
