Occupy protesters start march from NYC to DC

NEW YORK (AP) -- Flanked by police scooters, about two dozen Occupy Wall Street protesters started a two-week walk from New York to Washington on Wednesday.

They plan to walk through Pennsylvania, Delaware and Maryland and arrive in Washington by Nov. 23 - the deadline for a congressional committee to decide whether to keep President Barack Obama's extension of Bush-era tax cuts. Protesters say the cuts benefit only rich Americans.

They hope to pick up other participants along their 240-mile march and have likened the effort to long-distance walks during the civil rights era. They say they'll overnight by camping or at volunteered accommodations.

I hadn't heard that. Hope they pick up lots of other participants...and the weather is good to them.

Wonder if MSM will follow them....only if they block a freeway, I surmise.

3. Well, they left around 7:30pm and that one source is still the only source reporting on it that I

can find online. I actually stumbled on it while searching for something else. So that may be an indicator of MSM trail coverage.

He gets no cooperation from Congress.

6. If he follows his recent tactics he'll let contrarians refuse to kill them, try to get press on that

then find a way to do an end around run for the goal.

At least, that's been his campaign mode move anyway.


There have been several good charts here on DU showing historical tax rates and I like to think of charts as 'sound byte' or 'bumper sticker' moments where people can be hit with a big picture in a little time. I wish Dems would some of those. Since Perot I've remembered that technique as impactful.
