http://www.ustream.tv/themikemalloyshowThe Big Onehttp://www.mikemalloy.com/2011/11/the-big-one/American Exceptionalsim, a term Teabaggers dearly love to justify the corporate crimes and illegal wars that have ruined our economy and our global reputation. Might makes Right is another way to put it. We are a bully state, which goes a long way toward explaining why Teabaggers cheer in agreement over the idea that a person should die rather than have government-assisted healthcare. Or why middle-class Neocons continuously vote against policies - like raising the minimum wage, or mandated worker safety regulations, or protection of labor rights - that are in their own best interest.
Mike will discuss this ongoing conundrum on the program tonight!
Plus, what can we expect from tonight’s dog-and-pony show in Michigan? Will Herman Cain be able to sidestep the claims of five women who allege sexual misconduct on his part? At lease 3 of these will hold a press conference next week, will he claim they’re all a bunch of liars? The claims they filed years ago were some psychic preemptive plot to take down his as-yet-unannounced presidential bid in the distant future?
It’s not even plausible as a movie plot, let alone a defense for sexual harassment.
Join Mike around the campfire at 9PM ET for these and other soothing bedtime stories! Call 877-996-2556!

Occupy the Worldhttp://www.mikemalloy.com/2011/11/occupy-the-world/In case you missed it – Noam Chomsky had some words of wisdom to impart at Occupy Boston last week. Here’s a transcript:
November 1, 2011-It’s a little hard to give a Howard Zinn Memorial Lecture at an Occupy meeting. There are mixed feelings that go along with it. First of all, regret that Howard is not here to take part and invigorate it in his particular way, something that would have been the dream of his life, and secondly, excitement that the dream is actually being fulfilled. It’s a dream for which he laid a lot of the groundwork. It would have been the fulfillment of a dream for him to be here with you.
http://collegesoccupyboston.com/2011/10/12/introducing-the-howard-zinn-memorial-lecture-series/The Occupy movement really is an exciting development. In fact, it’s spectacular. It’s unprecedented; there’s never been anything like it that I can think of. If the bonds and associations that are being established at these remarkable events can be sustained through a long, hard period ahead — because victories don’t come quickly– this could turn out to be a very significant moment in American history.
The fact that the demonstrations are unprecedented is quite appropriate. It is an unprecedented era — not just this moment — but actually since the 1970s. The 1970s began a major turning point in American history. For centuries, since the country began, it had been a developing society with ups and downs. But the general progress was toward wealth and industrialization and development — even in dark and hope — there was a pretty constant expectation that it’s going to go on like this. That was true even in very dark times.
