11. I read that there were cops in riot gear out last night
as a large group of students gathered on campus and in town to support Paterno. I suppose they'll be on hand tonight as well.

12. You can make a stronger case for keeping Bobby Knight at least
Scoundrel though he was, he did not cover up crimes against children.

13. a reporter at the news conference just said, in fact, that there were students rioting downtown
Not sure how reliable that info is, though.

as a Happy Valley resident, I don't want to see it dragged out any longer.

Feel so sorry for the kids...Another night of unrest, probably a lot of beer bottles will be thrown. :-(

10. Some (all?) members of that board of trustees also knew.
I'd bet a million dollars. No way a scandal like that was capped at "just" the President's level. The university president is usually a first class fundraiser, and the board is all about the money. Since the athletic department is a huge money maker, there were others who were part of the cover-up on the board.

There's a stink there that's very, very widespread.

15. I'd bet there were FIFTY people who knew about this who won't lose their jobs.
Firing Joe Pa was the act they thought they could take that might put this issue to bed. Ain't happenin'.
