It's not at all uncommon.

3. Honestly, the Sandusky trial shouldn't even be held in the state of Pennsylvania
We had our big child molester case here in Delaware a few years back. A doctor molested over 100 girls - all of them patients of his.

The emotions were so heated down in the Southern part of Delaware that the trial had to be moved up north (the doctor practiced in the south).

I can't imagine anywhere in the state of Pennsylvania where this could be a fair and impartial hearing. Turn it over to Maryland or New York

8. You can't hold a trial on state charges in another state
A change of venue from State College would certainly be appropriate, but the trial would have to be conducted in the Commonwealth.

6. It might be for his own well being.

Child molesters don't usually fare well in jail.

Nothing good in my view.

12. Why have a trial? The public and the media have already decided EVERYONE is GUILTY ...
of something.

When are we going to hear calls for the original 'WITNESS' that reported the 'alleged misconduct' (to Paterno) to be fired and thrown in prison for not calling the police? Seems like if folks think that Paterno - the many that didn't even see anything - is going to be fired then the person that actually said he saw something but didn't call the police should be fired as well.

:sarcasm:
