Paterno Scandal Has Doomed Hermann Cain

Not that Cain wasn't already doomed, or that he deserved to be anything but doomed,

BUT...

the narrative of powerful sexual predators being institutionally coddled and protected has gone from the he said/they said of the Cain scandal to Joe Paterno working next to a sex predator for 15 years knowing that predator had forced anal sex on a ten year old boy in the fucking locker room of Joe's athletic realm.

It was easy for the Cain apologists to instantly assault the character and credibility of his adult, female accusers. It's not so easy to attack a helpless 10-year-old as being a slut, gold digger or prostitute (just a few of the epithets I've seen thrown at Cain's accusers over on the yahoo chat boards. Disgusting.).

Sexual predators - especially the privileged and powerful kind - are now front-and-center in the minds of the electorate, and anybody attacking Cain's accusers will be judged as being apologists for sexual assault just as surely as they would be were they attacking the victims of Jerry Sandusky.
