MOAR DEBATES PLEASE!!
Nothing can do more for Obama's chances in 2012 than continuing to parade this bunch of GOP dipshits onto a national stage once a week. I have no idea why the Republicans thought it was necessary to schedule 25 debates in the primary cycle, but they're paying off big time...for Obama. Watching Perry step all over his own dick last night was probably the most enjoyable political moment I've had since Obama won or Palin's interview with Katy Couric. Prior to tonight, Perry's chances were slim and none, and after that performance, slim has done left the building.

But beyond the gaffes, the public will be so over-exposed on these chumps by the primary that I doubt GOP enthusiasm will be very high. My moderately conservative father who usually watches presidential debates has already seen enough and basically doesn't like any of them. He was initially a Perry supporter but now thinks Perry is "hopelessly lost and unelectable outside a deeply red state." He had also voiced liking Cain until he presented his 9-9-9 tax plan (Dad works for the IRS and knows the plan is a disaster in the making).

The more debates we have, the more everyone hates the GOP candidates.

4. I think moar is slang for more.
They should have the debates on the moor closer to the hounds of the Baskervilles.

7. Too bad that none of them seem to know that the Departments of Education, Energy, and
Commerce are established 'departments' and not 'agencies'. Their heads also serve in the President's Cabinet.

8. I agree. I have to admit I missed the first few episodes of this new reality program
but it has grown on me. I'm looking forward to the challenge part where one or more get voted off the stage by the other candidates.

oh, wait, you mean this isn't a tv show? It's not one of those weird reality programs?

huh...

pass the popcorn. :)

11. Maybe They could Film The Pre- and Post- Debate Scense
You know, the behind the stage stuff where the candidates form and break alliances.

14. Oh, I think you folks are onto something here... How about we put them all in one big house?
Edited on Thu Nov-10-11 11:12 AM by Lone_Star_Dem
Of course an expensive house (Perry isn't used to living in anything that doesn't cost the tax payers less than 10K a month, you know) filled with all the latest creature comforts, and of course lots and lots of cameras so we might watch them drink, eat and scheme to excess.

Or, we just stick them all on a deserted island someplace with nothing but a chunk of flint and one can of hair spray each. Then we sit back and watch them go all Lord of the Flies on each other? I'm, personally, leaning toward this second option. It just feels more 'primal' and right to me.

I think we may have found a way to get the majority of Americans really interested in politics again! :D

9. well I'll tell you one thing: it makes for good tv
Up until now I've ignored these debates. But I'm setting my DVR for the CBS one on Saturday night. Good fodder for Jon Stewart and Steve Colbert; they must be loving it.
