23. Yes ma'am. You know... |
|
the largest, most widespread scandals are often revealed in surprising ways.
I wouldn't be surprised at all if this Sandusky story has legs that lead away from Happy Valley, into DC...and Wall Street.

And if those legs start running in the media Sandusky might need to be put on "suicide" watch.

9. Sandusky raped children, grade school aged children |
|
That is not the same as hiring adult prostitutes so I am not sure what comparison you are making.
I think one thing we could do as a society to help prevent more of this is to stop calling the rape of male children "molestation." Let's call it what it is: rape and arrest Sandusky and his enablers.

|
A lot of "call boys" are underage teen runaways. May not be the same as grade school boys but can still be considered rape whether it's paid for or not.

30. Yes, and please remember that younger "prostitutes"... |
|
...are usually sex slaves. They are controlled by pimps or others who have power over them. These are not just simply young people who have decided that their live calling is to have sex with middle-aged men and make a few dollars doing it.
These kids are usually runaways that are preyed upon by pedophiles and those who serve up victims to pedophiles. These kids are completely traumatized.
We all know that Sandusky was a raging child predator. Look at the charity he founded and ran--Second Mile. This charity specifically was for boys from troubled and dysfunctional homes. This entire charity was run as a buffet line for Sandusky--and most likely others--to pick and choose from a constant supply of victims.
This charity was nothing more than a trap to ensnare victims. Sandusky sure as hell wasn't interested in the health and well being of children.

and it will turn the country upside down as you said. I don't think the PTB can stop it, but they seem to be trying to slow it down if at all possible. What's happening now looks like a desperate attempt at stalling for time.

27. Read a Virginia Beach, VA paper online, suggesting it was regular way of getting ahead in the GOP. |
|
A sort of patrician system where the younger have to pay to advance with the old boys. Give your body to the rich old dude, and he makes sure you're on your way. Isn't this Scott Brown's story, except it was with a priest.
It's NOT about sexuality, it's about age, privilege, money and power. These creatures have had everything for so long, and see younger men and women and children as nothing more than play things for their amusement. They've been running the show too long.
We need to protect the kids, and all who are subject to being used and abused. Because we were all kids once, and we may be subject to abuse for various reasons ourselves, due to social circumstance, disability or age. It's dangerous to ignore this.

36. You're correct, IMHO. But some appear to be successful, like Scott Brown in MA. I consider him to.. |
|
Still be a victim of the authoritarian system that abused him, he just went from being abused by a priest to being used by the GOP.
Most suffer in silence for the rest of their lives, people wonder why some people are so hostile and withdrawn, or have addictions that lead them down the road to death.
All of them are stunted in some way, even though they have fought hard to overcome of those that I've known. The worse the abuse, the less they say. Who can blame them for not coming forward, when they see their abusers continuing to be rewarded and thought of so highly?
They know they will be ridiculed or their motives questioned. Those with the money will not be so scrutinized. They live in private behind the varied institutions and organizations they belong to. And that is how they will get away with these things
