Will we be watching the videos of the Tucson Shootings? |
|
Where is the line here for public information? Will we need Wikileaks to get these out? Just wondering if anyone has seen anything about this or of talk about the issue. A good video might wake up a few who support the gun nuts' talk of open carry, un permitted concealed carry and general warfare on the streets of America. The talk of guns for everyone never is accompanied by visions of the things actually going off and the results going down.

1. The videos are under court order now and we might not |
|
see them until the court is completed years from now. I suspect the videos when seen will accomplish the opposite of what the you want.

2. This is not what I'd want to see |
|
I saw the re-enactment with clay figurines and that was gruesome enough.

You said: "A good video might wake up a few who support the gun nuts' talk of open carry, un permitted concealed carry and general warfare on the streets of America."
So let's just PRETEND that all concealed carry was ILLEGAL in AZ that morning... how would it have changed anything?

6. There's already an equivalent of WL for videos. It's called LiveLeak. |
|
In fact, I'm pretty sure that LiveLeak has been around longer.
The vast majority of the crap that gets posted on LL is YouTube fodder that has no place on a leaks site, but they also get a lot of jihadi videos posted by Iraqi and Afghani insurgents, American helmetcams from the same wars, police brutality videos, police dashcam videos, road surveillance videos, etc. It was heavily used during the Iranian pro-democracy demonstrations recently, and it's often the source of videos that end up in the news a day or two later.
Just a warning though, it is almost completely uncensored. They do draw the line at pornographic nudity, but they allow videos that show blood and gore if they're labeled properly.
If someone leaks the Safeway security cam footage, it will almost certainly end up on LL first.
