I was going over video on You Tube of the Foo Fighters concert I attended Tuesday
evening when I ran across this video of a street preacher we had to walk by after crossing 5th street to get inside the arena (I didn't realize he was videotaping).

In light of all the requirements municipalities are putting on Occupy movements in terms of permits and such, are guys like this required to get a permit and does it have limits?

1. Why wasn't he reported if it is illegal to have a megaphone on the street?
I use to mess with Bob Jones University evangelists on the street corners in a small South Carolina town. They were required to save people in the street. I would ask philosophical and religious questions they couldn't answer. The confusion in their eyes was great. All these years later I'm sure some of them use me as an example of the so called Lost.

In Raleigh where I live, the occupy movement had a microphone with speakers on wheels, so it isn't illegal in my city. I was wondering if he had to be permitted.

2. I don't know...
When I hear stories like this, I recall the days when we would take photographs or 8mm film or just plain old videos. Using a public park as an example, now and again, you'd snap a photograph and some unknown person would end up in the picture. It was just one of those things.

These days, people actually take pictures and films because they want pictures and films of all these people they don't know. And, then, they post them on the internet.

I'm definitely not a technological wallflower; I've been around since the beginning of the internet and well before that. I'm supposed to just accept it. It's just part of the culture, I'm told.

FYI: I did not look at the video. :)
