VICTORY! Fearing Mass Protest Governor Walker Cancels Wichita Visit
Kansans say “NO” to Walker’s radical brand of politics.

In the wake of mass protests of his attacks on working families in his home state, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has cancelled a high-priced Wichita fundraiser with Governor Brownback and RNC Chair Reince Priebus.

Thousands of Kansas workers led by the Wichita / Hutchinson Labor Federation and the Working Kansas Alliance had planned to protest Walker’s policies and his appearance at the fundraiser. Several busses full of protestors were set to arrive in Wichita from all corners of the state.

“Obviously this is a victory for working Kansans,” said Wichita / Hutchinson Labor Federation president Judy Pierce, “Governor Walker’s anti-worker policies have made headlines across the country, but Kansans are facing some of the very same attacks here courtesy of Governor Brownback.”

“The fact that our own Governor would stand with Governor Walker sends an appalling message to Kansas working men and women. We are Kansas workers trying to make a living, put food on the table and pay our bills. But there are people in powerful positions in this state who would just as soon make that harder to do.”

11. You know, that would be a fun thing for a lot of us to send
If someone can put the petition up in PDF format, and we can get the link to print it out and the unemployment benefits, that would be a great thing to send to old Scott - it would be worth the stamp.

14. There been numerous staff that was let go or resigned
He hired one guy, some younger dude maybe 30, that had really no experience whatsoever for his position within the State. I can't recall his position but he finally resigned or was let go.

Also, there's the ongoing FBI investigation that seemed to explain some of the other resignations that happened just before the media broke the story.

I hear that there is a great deal of momentum building and manifesting itself concering the recall...

They probably came to their senses and told him not to come.

I hope he gets hounded EVERYWHERE he goes, just like in Chicago, and now in Kansas before he even got there.

21. I have to believe

After he got punked by that guy impersonating David Koch, that they are wary of anything connected to him that could cause widespread negative publicity, and further bring up that incident. You know it had to embarrass them and you know they HAVE to hate that everyone now knows they are the evil vampires behind all of this 99% crushing legislation.

Do you have a link that states the Koch Brothers cancelled it, or was the whole event cancelled?
