10. He's a first rate coward
He couldn't spell lead let alone leadership - both he and his father are scumbags. No doubt it was all about his career. Fuck him.

14. They said on MSNBC last night that he would be coaching
from the booth.

If true Penn State is still trying to manage the scandal in an underhanded way.

I graduated from a Big 12 school that has a long football rivalry with Nebraska. To be honest I pretty much hate Nebraska football. That said - GO NEBRASKA.

16. MSNBC reporting just now that McQuery will not be at the game...but...
He is so far still employed by the university. That's as of 9:15 this morning.

17. Thanks for the update.
Now, have they figured out a way to keep the Nebraska fans safe?

18. They also reported that Nebraska has contacted Penn and asked for extra security.
I suspect the ratings for this game will be huge. I hate football, but I'm currently bed-ridden after surgery on Tuesday, so this game could be an interesting diversion.

20. Poor guy!!! Needs extra security???
I bet there are lots of people out there who are very, very angry at him right now. Rightfully so. I don't ever condone violence, but I can understand people being upset enough about this to call him up and threaten violence. Especially if they have a child who was abused.

7. Well, c'mon...kind of a softball. Kind of like opposing the kicking of puppies.
But, yeah, at least he isn't trying to defend the scumbags...though who knows what his stand would be if this scandal was taking place at Alabama.

8. Has he commented on the fact that JoePa just hired Bush41's IRAN-CONTRA LAWYER??`
Paterno is sending a VERY high-level message with this hiring: "I have serious connections, including to the CIA, so this scandal had better not be widened, if you all know what is good for you. Remember the Gricar Brothers."

I'm not joking.

9. Is that why he's been coach so long? "It's good to be da coach of a Prez's favorite football team!"

21. Does he really want the whole country to hear that message, though?
The connections are clear to anyone who's been paying attention for a few years, including many here at DU.
