DU Veterans, please check-in here on Veteran's Day. It's important that veterans stand up
... for the People (again) and our presence on DU is just one more way we do that.

Thanks to all our veterans on Veteran's Day.

3. I'd Rather
I'd rather see you agitate for an investigation into the large number of veterans who commit suicide - 18 a day. This number does not include druggies, drunks and other individuals who engage in morbidly high-risk behaviors. What's killing off America's veterans at such an galloping rate?

Veterans don't need faux gratitude, especially if it takes the form of one-day-a-year free meals from corporations like Applebee's. If civilians feel the need to say something to veterans on Veterans Day, how 'bout an apology for America's zany wars that have left our veterans so damaged?

If people want to honor me for my service, I certainly don't want a thank-you. A free car would be nice; if not that, I'll take ten dollars. I can actually use ten dollars; I can't do anything with gratitude from civilians.

I can actually use ten dollars.

9. Much love to you all
My son is USAF guard, 267 CCS. He is in DC for 4 days with a group from his University and Arlington Nat Cemetery is on their itinerary for today. I reminded him to take the time to think of all the men that went before him.

My brother, his uncle is a Capt in the Navy (reserves now).
