1. the whole thing is getting worse by the minute
Edited on Fri Nov-11-11 11:25 AM by Botany
Sandusky bringing a little boy on a bowl trip, child prostitution, and a D.A. who was looking into the case who went missing and is now
declared dead. .... all alleged but I can't see why PSU is still playing another football game

People who "knew"

1998

Mother of Victim 6 - She was very upset about it and reported it to University Police.

Ronald Schreffler (Detective for Unversity Police) - investigated Sandusky after Mother of Victim 6 filed report.

Ray Gricar (Centre County District Attorney) - received report from Schreffler and decided there would be no criminal charges.

Thomas Harmon (Director of campus police) - asked Schreffler to close the investigation.

Ralph Ralston (State College PD Detective) - participated in investigation with Schreffler.

Jerry Lauro (investigator with Penns. Dept. of Public Welfare) - interviewed Sandusky with Schreffler.

2000

James "Jim" Calhoun (janitor) - witnessed Sandusky molesting boy in shower - never filed a report

Unspecified number of other janitors - Calhoun told the rest of his crew what he'd seen.

Ronald Petrosky (janitor) - saw Sandusky and boy leaving locker room and then Calhoun told him what he'd seen.

Jay Witherite (Calhoun's supervisor) - told Calhoun who to report incident to "if he chose to report it"

2002

Mike McQueary (graduate assistant) - witnessed Sandusky molesting boy in shower.

Mike McQueary's father - heard account from his son.

Joe Paterno - heard account from McQueary.

Tim Curley (AD) - heard account from Paterno and McQueary - did not inform police.

Gary Schultz (PSU Admin) - heard account from McQueary - knew about 1998 investigation.

Jack Raykovitz (Second Mile Exec. Director) - told by Curley about incident (probably leaving out the molestation).

Graham Spanier (PSU President) - given some details by Curley

2. The pimping thing
is not being reported by a credible source. I need confirmation before I believe it.

5. By the same token...

I hope that reporters are hot on the trail of leads in this story, as suggested by Mark Madden, the talk-show host who first broke the story in the Beaver County Times about the blatant cover-up of Sandusky's horrific crimes. Damage control is futile. Deal.

Also: I would like to point out that the story of Jerry Sandusky pimping young boys out to 1%ers who donated to his happy hunting ground organization, Second Mile, is growing legs beyond HuffPo. I just saw that it's been picked up by media outlets ranging from International Business News to FAUX Nooz. Release the hounds!

16. Why did you feel the need
to repeat what you said to another poster on this same thread here?

Also, "Damage control is futile. Deal." Spoken like a true anonymous denizen of the saintly, self-righteous Internets.

It's in the same vein between creating links between terms like 'santorum' and...well, you know the rest...

4. This has been posted at least a dozen times. There are no facts or
new information. It is a rumor. Until it is more than that, it's impossible to comment on it. If it's true, it's a horrible thing. But we don't know if it's true, since it's a rumor. Not worthy of comment at this point.

11. Yup! Rumor passes for fact a lot these days. I guess I'm just
old-fashioned. I certainly think this possibility needs to be investigated, and I imagine that it is being investigated. Every report of this is based on the same source, who "heard" a rumor about it. I hate rumors. They destroy lives and are never fully retracted if incorrect.

15. It may be rumor at this point
Edited on Fri Nov-11-11 12:01 PM by Cirque du So-What
but Mark Madden has said that at least two prominent columnists are hot on the trail as we speak. Here's wishing them all the luck in the world. BTW, the revelation that a similar pedophile ring was operating out of the Bush I White House was merely a 'rumor' at one time too. While I have some problems with the trite adage 'where there's smoke, there's fire,' I've found over the years that there's direct correlation between the quantity of smoke and the veracity of the rumor. And although I also have problems with anecdotal evidence, I heard from a source who lives for All Things Penn State the exact same rumor as reported by Mark Madden - that Jerry Sandusky was pimping out young boys to 1%ers who donated to his Second Mile organization. GAWD, I just can't seem to help myself anymore! Somebody STOP me before I create more Google hits for 'sandusky' and 'pimping'!

I'll be on those threads until then, not.

21. The more this rumor is in the public consciousness
the more likely that reporters will take it seriously enough to get off their dead asses and do some real investigative work. If we sit on our hands and wait for the corporate media to bring stories to us as *they* see fit, nothing may get done. Rumors are being spread; the ball is in the corporate media's court as to whether they actually look into it.

14. to comment that it is impossible to comment on something is a contradiction

unless you know of a different definition of contradiction... do you?

22. Speaking for myself
'Enjoyment' is not my goal; ferreting out the truth is *my* goal. I get no personal satisfaction out of this. If my retelling of this tale leads to goading some corporate media toadies to get off their dead asses and look for the truth, then I consider my work done.

6. Soon there will be Satanic ritual sacrifice of national proportions, and Illuminati involvement.....
This guy's existence (Sandusky) is obviously pushing folks off the deep end. I figure it's a class thing, since no one gets particularly worked up when this happens to the poor...

And I don't really see why raping a kid is THAT MUCH WORSE than condemning him to lifetime poverty, subnormal intelligence, and subnormal health, due to pollution, for example. Is it worse to screw a kid for an hour, or to screw him for fifty years?

The whole "child porn" emotionality is, for me, far too close to the "fetal life" emotionality. It's all about pushing people outside the human envelope.

9. If it were possible, I would hope that he gets screwed for 10,000 years
As I'm not much of a believer in Satan, it's fruitless for me to fantasize about Jerry Sandusky getting sodomized by Beelzebub - himself - for all eternity...but if anyone deserves such a fate, it's Jerry Sandusky.

I characterize your assertion that 'no one gets particularly worked up when this happens to the poor' in particularly poor taste. How DARE you!

13. wtf are you on about?
are you seriously saying that a serial rapist who was empowered by the establishment of a major university and who may be tied into a much larger ring of high money pedophiliacs is no big deal because "the system sucks"?

you are the actual embodiment of a logical fallacy if you actually believe that
