legislation, based on how it has evolved...we would see a radically different platform. It would have still been a commercial and corporate tool, but they'd have demanded radically different rules with regards to social content.

the idea and trying to explain what it was. I could not understand much of what he said, neither did Tweety. Some days or weeks later the subject came up and Tweety said something like, "He's like Johnny Jupiter with this thing." None of us (should say most of us) had a clue. Of course Tweety led or joined the chorus of jack@sses ridiculing Gore by falsely asserting that Gore claimed he invented it, the lying sack of sh*t.
Gore took the initiative in getting funding. That's what he said.
Safe to say there would not be a possibility of getting the world back on track without the internet.
