*GASP!* A glimpse of humanity on freeperville? (re: Sandusky/Paterno)

I occasionally put on my hazmat gear and wander over to freepertown to see what our mutant cousins are saying about hot-button issues. The results usually leave me feeling dirty and despairing.

Imagine my shock and awe when I read a few threads about the Penn State child rapes and cover-ups. While I didn't do an exact count, I'd estimate 80% of comments shared the same level of anger, disgust and demands for justice that we've seen here.

That does not let the freeps off the hook for all the other ugly, evil shit they spew, but I guess it's good to know that even brain dead mutants hate people who rape children, AND those who cover it up, AND students who care more about football than the welfare of children.

I believe that's a statement as to how much more pervasive child abuse and rape truly is in our society, no doubt many people free or imprisoned have been damaged and their traumatic events were never reported.

on Sandusky, Paterno, McQuery, and a culture so consumed by "win at all costs" that they would sacrifice the lives of children to do it. I found it a bit shocking, really.

To hear them tell it, Sandusky was a liberal at a socialist school full of pointy-headed left-wing-intellectual child-molesters. One Freepers even posted that "this kind of thing wouldn't happen at Bob Jones or Liberty Universities."

So, yes, Freepers have a modicum of compassion, but they continue to get their facts dead wrong.
