does Joe P get a severance package of any type with his firing
or did he have to clean out his desk with a security guard standing over him and a foot in the butt on the way out the door?

I realize he's a wealthy man.

1. He probably has an emeritus position carved out already, with a nice office, to boot.

These people are NOT serious. They're talking about walking the "winning game ball" down his JoePedo's HOUSE if they win....

And it looks like, "technically," anyway, he was allowed to resign--if this WAPO coverage is correct.

That would preserve a pension.

Paterno informed administrators of his resignation Wednesday morning, then called a team meeting to inform his players — a meeting that ended with Paterno receiving a standing ovation, according to offensive lineman Chima Okoli.

2. Would depend on the terms of his contract
I believe that they have already reached an agreement in principle and he is simply going to retire. They would sell it to him as being best for the school. Probably pay him for this academic year and there would be some other consideration as well. The school will have to pay to terminate his contract.

3. His home doesn't look that impressive
from the outside. Maybe that's just too make it look like an average middle class home and inside it is a mansion. (with a very large BASEMENT ;) )

6. Just saw a glimpse of it on TV now...you're right
Had I not been listening to the report, I sure as hell would not have thought it was his place. Especially when you compare it to Sandusky's house (I had just seen the pic here on DU of HIS house next to the playground)

Apparently students are now assembling in his yard and the "losing" game ball may be getting delivered to him.

Sitting here watching people wearing "Joe Knows Football" sweatshirts on TV and then a group gathering in his yard..and then heard his son said at a post game presser "Dad, I wish you were here..." I just cannot wrap my brain around them idolizing a man who turned a blind eye to CHILDREN BEING RAPED.

4. Lifetime room and board and security at
a Pennsylvania "resort" with plenty of neighbors who would make his former students very nervous.

5. He'll probably get a $10 million golden parachute just like the CEOs who
run their companies into the ground. He is a 1%er.
