Is Hu Jintao a dictator? Let's consider the evidence: |
|
Edited on Wed Jan-19-11 02:01 PM by CommonSensePLZ
-Violent oppression of religion --Shooting meditators and Falun Dafa/Falun Gong practitioners on sight plus massive propaganda campaign against it -Oppression of dissent -Censorship of the internet -Kill vans and questionable organ donations -Forced one-child only law -The fact the the "People's Republic" IS a dictatorship
...Yep, would seem to to point to him being a dictator alright.
Forgive me if I remind you of a republican right now, but, God, I'm proud to be a citizen of a country that can call him or anyone else out on their bullshit, even if corporate and political America is willing to sell their souls for some cheap electronics (though hypocritically I write this on a Chinese-made HP).

1. A dictator holds all the power |
|
The Chinese government is extremely and brutally oppressive, but power is held by a group of people, not one individual.
So, strictly speaking, Hu isn't a dictator.

6. Brutally oppressive, as I said in my post |
|
No argument there. But, no, he's not a dictator.

2. Careful. They can probably push a button in China and kill you through your computer. |
|
However, I agree. Unless he's living the life of an average citizen, it's anything but communism and far closer to whatever our government is morphing into.
That "We Are All Equals" BS if for the ignorant masses - on both sides of the Pacific.

9. I was hoping a major East Coast college |
|
....would give him an honorary Doctorate before he went to see Obama.
I always wanted to see the headline "Dr. Hu visits the WH".
