7. The blank strip is Pamlico Sound, a body of water with Cape Hatteras to the east.
Cape Cod is way up above NY and RI, part of Mass.

14. That strip in NC is the Outer banks of NC.
Edited on Sat Nov-12-11 09:49 PM by JoePhilly
Much of it is residential. I think the one McD's there is in one of the few built up areas. Its in the Kitty Hawk / Kill Devil Hills area.

Parts of the Outer banks are extremely narrow ... less than a 1/4 mile wide from the ocean side to the sound side. And most of those are residential / rental property.

And then, there are large tracks of the outerbanks that have been set aside as nature preserves. Corolla to the north doesn't even have real roads, you have to have a 4-wheel drive to go there. To the south, you have natural areas where there is very little, residential or other.

And its not a ritzy area. The area between Corolla and South Nags head is a mix. You can find huge high end beachfront homes, and then next to those, cheap beach front rooms at a Quality Inn. If you rent a place back from the beach, the cost is very reasonable.

I suspect that reduces the amount of light shown.

21. So what you are saying is that the number of McDonald's and the
number of computers associated with child pornography both correspond with the areas of dense population?
