"Where city factories, and now babies, die"
A little late for LBN....

SNIP:

"The Chinese city of Guangzhou has mastered many of the trades Milwaukee once championed: machinery, motors, metalworking. The two cities crisscross in another way: Babies in China’s industrial heartland now have a far better chance of reaching their first birthday"

http://www.jsonline.com/features/health/economic-decline-elevated-infant-mortality-go-handinhand-in-53210-zip-code-mh2kv7l-133758368.html

A very strong piece in Milwaukee journal Sentinel about the industrial decline in Milwaukee....specifically my Zip Code...

I live in 53210 and have long advocated to critics of MPS, BadgerCare, City of Milwaukee to fucking come to the city and see it. People who live in the suburbs rarely come to the city and NEVER drive down North or Center Streets...

Milwaukee the once great America Industrial City can't even make and sell a hammer. We have the iron just a state away, we have plenty of wood. We have plenty of shop space, foundary equipment and above all plenty of eager workers ready to learn basic needs industry vocations again.

Be sure to view the gallery on 53210

4. They didn't take it, it was handed to them on a gilded platter. Do you remember
there being tax incentives for companies that packed up their manufacturing equipment and sent it to China?

6. Tiffany Weddle wants to get out.
Tiffany Weddle needs birth control:(

Pregnant with her 5th child, and stuck in sub-standard living conditions:(

Large families may we a blessing, but if you cannot afford to support a large family, more children will not help much .

Mobility is a large part of "escaping" bad living conditions. The more children one has, the harder it is to find decent accommodations that are also affordable.

It's so sad when children end up stuck in dead-end situations...through no fault of their own.
