It is true that the lakefront property in the metro areas are for wealthy people only but if you get out in the boonies you can live on a small lake fairly easily.

she makes 12 dollars an hour. The house is an rental, but she is poor. Then there are the efficiency apartments on the corner of Pontiac Lake Road and M-59 that rent to poor people. That apartment complex is certainly on Pontiac Lake. My own parents live on a lake in Holly. They are by no means rich, in fact they are struggling. I don't live on a lake, but Williams Lake is at the end of my street.

There was an interesting line in the Steve Jobs book. Jobs is talking to Rupert and says, "you have it wrong, it isn't a liberal conservative divide, its a divide between those who create and those who destroy (or don't create, can't remember). He wasn't quite right. In my book it is the difference between those who are grateful for what they have and recognize they did not get there on their own and owe something back, and those who feel entitled, believe they are owed what they have because they are "job creators" or some other bs). But Jobs' line works here.

I don't care that Buffet and Moore and Gore are rich. I care that Rupert is because he did it in such a destructive way. He did not contribute one thing to our society. He made it worse. He was the destroyer Jobs talked about and Gore and Moore at least contributed something positive to the conversation.
