I will never buy a Hyundai after seeing this commercial...
Edited on Sun Nov-13-11 07:24 PM by Cid_B
Seriously, what marketing genius thinks that one of the most annoying sounds in the world ( drained smoke detector ) is going to convince me to buy your car.

Has anyone else seen this abomination?

9. It's probably made in Alabama.

Cars are so multi-national now that the "origin" of the car is really only a PO Box in whatever country the company is cheating on their taxes in, anyway. :)

5. I thought it was funny. My dad is deaf and has about seven
smoke detectors and two carbon monoxide detectors in his little house. When one of them starts beeping, I have to keep listening and search for which one it is. I thought that commercial was kind of clever.

6. they're really good cars.
honestly, that's a stupid decision to make- pro OR con- over an ad. Sure, buy a piece of crap that's going to break down every 5 minutes (like the cars from one particular country that we're always being guilt-tripped into buying) because you like the ads.

Anyway, I'm glad you've found something you like. My experience with them has that they've near-universally been pieces of poorly made crap. But, as they say, YMMV.

7. Looks like a pretty good commercial to me. The one that pisses me off lately is...
This Nissan Leaf commercial. First, it's just dumb. Second, the commercial defeats itself, because before you realize they are advertising the car, you think they are pointing out that every electrical item pollutes the air because the source of the electricity pollutes... then they show you the electric car and claim it doesn't pollute.

8. i don't think they're trying to convince you to buy their car based on an ad
they're trying to get you to think about that car, or perhaps just the brand when you are thinking of buying a car.

advertising is kind of complicated.

48. I had that happen to me in real life
Right before bedtime, one of our many alarms started doing that. We have an open floor plan in our house, so sound travels too strangely for us to be able to pinpoint where the sound was coming from. After taking several smoke alarms off the walls to no avail, it turned out that the carbon monoxide alarm was the culprit. FINALLY, we could go to bed, LOL!

But about this commercial...it's not that annoying. You want annoying, try watching a music video with all the flashing and quick cuts they've been doing in recent years. It's enough to make you have a seizure, even if you don't have epilepsy. :(
