A strange feeling. My 1st time at the top of "Greatest Threads" list...

I don't think it's my best thread, not by a long shot. I've had plenty of others where I've waxed eloquent and passionate and gotten good response.

There are hundreds of people here who can write rings around me. But I'm not trying to post to win an audience or impress anyone, just speaking my mind and my truth. I think of the greatest threads authors as the "heavy hitters" around here, and I certainly don't consider myself one.

This time I guess I just hit the zeitgeist, and was involved in the right thing at the right time. I don't take any credit, other than being willing to put my body in the way, and make my thoughts public.

Still, I would be a liar if I said it was not pleasing and gratifying to be on top of the "greatest threads" list today.

5. I've had a pretty good number of threads...

...that got to the greatest page with 10 to 30 votes. I've had a couple that got 100+ votes.

I've also had a significant amount of threads that I thought were really good that sunk like lead turds in a punch bowl.

One of those results is more fun. YOUR thread is at the top for one reason and one reason only.

It belongs there.
