11. I think so too. I just talked to my daughter who lives in Berkeley
and has been very involved with Occupy Oakland. While I was talking to her she got a phone call from a friend who said they expect the camp to be raided again tonight.

4. Yeah....
Who needs literal homeland security agents when you can
just pull the strings through mayors. I'm wondering now
just how ugly it can yet. I would be willing to stand with
these folks, but I live in a small city
which kisses our occupy group's ass:-) No excitement here.
Our cops know they are part of the 99.
So what is up with the authoritarian streak in the
bigger cities?

10. no. they are doing this because this is out of control

they also need to insert a good dose of fear. The dynamic is very easy, and predictable. We are entering there. Also they know that the moment the supercommitte cuts SS and other entitlements and leaves the Bush tax cuts alone, as reported... this will get even more widespread (in the US) the dynamics in Europe are for different reasons, but the same indeed.

It is good to understand how the PTB looks at this.

12. And speaking of dynamics... Tulsa just thanked OCCUPY POLICE
for calling the mayor.

These kids, yes they are kids... are fearless. There are good physiological rasons for that.

Oh and I take my hat at you for doing this.

This is what a police state looks like!

14. Consider Portland evicted for now. Definitely moving to the next stage...
The camps are empty, the Occupation has mainly scattered for the night. I have no clue what the next steps will be, but it's obvious that we have entered phase 2 of the Occupation.

But even though they cleared the camps, I still consider the past two days a victory for the Occupation. We have shown that we can stop a city at will, and that far from their estimates of a few hundred protesters, that we can mobilize thousands when we need to. That Genie does NOT go back in the bottle.

While I have no more voice in the GA than anyone, my guess (and hope) is that phase 2 is more guerrilla (hit and run) tactics. Flash-mob 1000 people to shut down the Federal building, or Goldman -Sachs, or the Hawthorne bridge for a day.

Portland State University is planning a student/faculty walkout Wed in support of the Occupation.

27. Federal Court rules on Occupy Dallas tomorrow afternoon
The city had initially given them a Saturday 5pm deadline, OD lawyers went to the courts, it was bumped up to federal court as they were saying making them shut down violated their federal rights, with Friday being a federal holidays and the court schedule the way it was, it was bumped til Monday. The city backed down from their deadline until the court makes a ruling on Monday. They gave OD a "fine, you can stay the weekend but step out of line in any way and we will shut you down" warning on Friday.

Depending on that ruling tomorrow, OD may be headed for a showdown, also.

Edited on Mon Nov-14-11 04:11 AM by JDPriestly
Birmingham, Al. was cheated by Wall Street to the point it has declared bankruptcy.

Why doesn't it have an Occupy Birmingham movement?

Where would it be more appropriate?
