1. Demonization. Creating reason to remove it. Disease as well.
Everyone can agree, no sir, don't want crime, better get rid of it now!

3. Taking 2-3 incidents and trying to make the status quo seem
safe when it is fraught with mines and booby traps. This is one reason that there is a need for some form of structure to the OWS movement. To provide accountability within while demanding it from them.

5. It's definitely the focus now. Two things:
1. It seems if each location could get one locally unassailable person to be part of the group -- not a spokesperson necessarily, but simply a show of support -- that may help slap down these MSM lies and distortions. If there was one person in each location who had some credibility and name recognition locally and could garner coverage of their support of OWS, perhaps it could help shift the media's message.

2. It would be nice if more people *liked* this friggin Facebook page and spread the word about it, to show support for peace and nonviolent civil disobedience.

7. Why

you're our conscience. ;-) Good thing too. :)

Your idea has merit. Maybe in addition to the unassailable person, each occupy group should have a declaration of peaceful protest for media release. Also, maybe a declaration that it is not a drug movement.

It's time for them to quit painting the movement in a broad brush comdemnation and bearing of false witness.

11. From an article posted by Fire Walk:
"...it would be wrong to suggest that the homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse and violence so often highlighted by the corporate media and certain public officials was created by the encampment. Putting the many hardships associated with poverty on public display should be a step towards addressing them, not an excuse for political repression."
