THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE! (beautiful vid from Occupy Portland)
Yeah, in the end, they pushed us out of the parks. For now. Still, Sunday morning's failed eviction was a watershed, at least here. This video is a wonderful demonstration of people power. We can overwhelm you at will.

I hope you enjoy, (vid about 11 min) :

2. It's what part of democracy looks like, anyhow.
The other part is when people go to the polls. That part's more complicated, it seems.

3. No, voting is not that complicated. Just don't get confused and think because you voted blue...
that you are part of the solution. I vote, I campaign, and I'm proud that Oregon has a far better delegation than most states.

I just don't get confused and think that electing a good person solves the problems we face. It's bigger and tougher than that.

4. I know you do. So do I. I'm hoping everyone does in 2012.
My point is that, despite the Occupy movement, democracy extends beyond that and can lead to results that are not what some people want. Occupy, itself, changes nothing. Not in our system, anyhow.
