Bachmann: Waterboarding is justified, like nuking Japan
Raw Story

Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann explained her support for waterboarding Monday by likening it to the decision to drop nuclear bombs on Japan during World War II.

At Saturday’s CBS News/National Journal Republican presidential debate, Bachmann agreed with Herman Cain that waterboarding was an acceptable interrogation technique.

“If I were president, I would be willing to use waterboarding,” the Minnesota Republican declared. “It was very effective. It gained information for our country.”

Over the weekend at a summit with Asian leaders in Hawaii, President Barack Obama said his rivals were wrong.

2. Wait. Didn't the US execute Japanese water boarders after WWII?
Seems like a strange event to use to justify water boarding.

5. Hell, with Bachmann waterboarding would be just for starters
I get the feeling the stocks, the rack, and torture chairs would all be supported enthusiastically by Bachmann.

"The stocks are a favored prop in theme parks and historical areas, but they were not a treat for people placed in them. Stocks can constrain you by your head, hands, and legs, or something as simple as your thumbs. The physical uncomfortableness was definitely a factor, but being left at the mercy of the population was the true punishment. In a land without television, throwing stones and rotten fruit at people stuck in the stocks was one of the most popular forms of entertainment."

7. Why does she continue to get
any media attention at all is beyond me. She isn't going to be President. She has no chance of being the nominee. None. She is just taking up space on the stage along with Santorum and Huntsman.

Time to let the top tier crazies duke it out.

8. she has such a way with words - Too bad she won't be the GOP nominee
I suppose there is still an off chance it could happen if Newt flounders and the crazies rally behind her. But, I think our best realistic hope for a fun general election is Newt. He wouldn't be as much fun as Michelle though.

10. Maybe Michele should be water boarded so we could find out her roll in the
Black Plague in 1348 AD.

11. I think the debates are a form of interrogation
So at the next debate any candidate that skirts the question and has stated that water-boarding is okay
then water-boarding can be used on them to really find out what they think
