This is not "How to Invest" ...but mostly about what's going on Globally. And for folks like me who are older and not going to get a Pension but Proceeds from my 401-K then this is important to listen to about our GLOBAL SITUATION.

I don't want to get Scammed again like 2007-08...so I read and read and listen and listen.

This a a simple but excellent description of what the Global World is about...and if you ignore the Gold /Silver..Charles Hugh Smit and Max are laying out what's ahead. It's a good listen...for those who like to hear "all sides of Politcal/Financial" and make up THEIR OWN MINDS.

Anyway......It's a good watch:

Neo liberalism & Washington consensus

He talks about the Neo liberalism and the Washington consensus and their effects on our current economic crisis.

2. All my 401K is in money markets
I'm betting on double-dip, but for the sake of everybody else, I hope I'm wrong.

3. Not necessarily
Most companies have 401K investment options that aren't stock or bond based. Money markets and gov securities would be two examples.

4. I got out of the Money Market funds in the 2008 crash. Just saying...
Edited on Mon Nov-14-11 10:01 PM by KoKo
not that anyone else should do it. But, I'm in individual stocks. I follow markets and just have Dividend stocks...so I don't care much if market goes up or down...I'm still getting better return than in bonds or my money markets that crashed.

Just saying for me. But, we are older and have been watching markets a long time...so we are making our own choices. For younger...a few MM Funds are probably okay for you all. As long as you check out the fees...and performance and keep a watchful eye as much as you can. (If you are in 20's to around 38 years old).

I don't mean to sound like giving advice. I'm just saying that I'm older so need to preserve money more than some...and was forced into the 401-K...by downsizing and having to go into business for ourselves. So our situation is just ours.
