Cain is quite the foreign policy expert....today's interview w/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel hilarity:
In an interview with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel editorial board, Cain was asked whether he agreed or not with President Obama’s decisions on Libya.

The beginning of Cain’s answer then gave the impression that he might have been working from rote memorization — and struggling to remember his lines.

“Okay, Libya,” Cain said — then paused, looking downward. “President Obama supported the uprising — correct? President Obama called for the removal of Qaddafi. Just want to make sure we’re talking about the same thing before I say, yes I agreed, or no I didn’t agree.”

“I do not agree with the way he handled it, for the following reasons — No, that’s a different one. (Pauses) I gotta go back, see. (Pauses) Got all this stuff twirling around in my head. Specifically, what are you asking me, did I agree or not disagree (sic) with Obama?”

1. Reading the text is bad enough...
but the video is downright frightening.

3. looks like his moment has passed. I hope it hasn't. the amazing thing is that, while he's dropped
11 points in the last week, according to the news report I heard on the radio tonight, which referenced the MJS article, that NEWT has gained 12

that can't be a bad thing, either

this candidate slate is, so far, an endless, highly entertaining series of clueless dementia, demonstrating just how bankrupt the republican party's leadership has become, how low it's sunk

course, look at the dems. Bill Daley, who breaks out in hives at the mention of climate change?

4. some of the comments are pretty entertaining, like this one:

The thing Republicans keep on forgetting about Newt Gingrich is that he is a hideous little troll with an enormous head who looks like a Ferengi after ear surgery.

5. "Specifically, what are you asking me?" in Cainspeak is "Give me a hint."

6. Cain would have been more forceful with Qadaffi. Probably would have reached up his dress...
Maybe not the most polished diplomatic move, but Qadaffi would never have gotten into a car with Herman Cain again...comments are hilarious

9. Waded on over to FR to see their take on the latest bestest GOP candidate ever...
But first: Asked if he thought federal employees should have the ability to bargain collectively, Cain said: “They already have it, don’t they?”

"Tell me you're kidding. That's what you want for president?"

"I've been saying for months that Cain just isn't presidential mettle. He shoots from the hip when he's unsure, and that is just way too dangerous for the guy with his finger on the button.
It ain't him, babe. No way."

"I always liked Newt and I am beginning to think that he is the go-to guy. I am worried about how the media butchered him back in the 90s."

"Oh my goodness, that was painful. No way is he qualified for the Presidency, no way."

And then there's this:

"I thought his answers were perfectly fine. He seemed tired and stressed out, and obviously had a brainfreeze initially on the Libya question—but he recollected himself perfectly fine and gave a solid reply. That’s what counts.

Presidents are only human, they’re not superheros. Hence, they’re subject to the same human limitations as the rest of us."

Unless they happen to be Democrats, of course.

12. the idea of Newt being butchered by the media brings up some disturbing imagery, doesn't it?
first thing I thought of was Robert Frost's characterization of Chicago

just hoping for anybody but Mitt, course there's always this picture if he gets it:

I don't see how anything can top that one

11. How does that 3 Stooges skit go---"who's on first?" In this case, Cain
is saying, "Who's the opposition, what's Obama's stand, and where are my notes?"

Not ready for prime time, reminds me of Sarah Stupid.

16. abbott and costello. that said, maybe the most amazing thing about this
seemingly endless cavalcade of inanity is how the media play along with the crazy premise that these people are actually serious candidates for PRESident!

Jon Stewart and Colbert are the only credible sources of TV commentary on the GOP circus train

I know it's outdated (for now...Run, Sarah, Run!), but....pretty colors!!!

19. local tv, WGN, just did a piece on Cain, with about 10 twitter/man on street responses, and ALL but
one were very negative about Cain, for all the various reasons, from being a phony, to being ignorant, to being a womanizer

all who spoke about the harrassment believed the accusers

surprising that there wasn't much defense shown by interviewees or anchors, as this is no liberal bastion station.

course, what TV station is?

22. Good God. I am embarrassed FOR this man
And I love how even though he has NO IDEA what the "situation" in Libya is even about, his automatic go-to response is "I don't agree with the way Obama handled things."

Somebody get this man off the public stage. For his own damn sake.
