Anyone remember the "Beer Summit"?
Obama had no problem commenting on the behavior of local government when it suited his purposes.

14. President Obama & his family should thank their gawd everyday that LBJ didn't agree.

LBJ signing the Civil Rights Act 1964 with Martin Luther King looking over his shoulder.
Civil Rights and Equal Protections are NOT a local issue.

You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses.

10. I just wish someone would come out for Occupy to lend legitimacy
But I think that so many of the PTB are afraid of it because it challenges the status quo so much.

11. exactly
Status quo is the law of our land and those who question or defy it are troublemakers. All of these people of power (celebrity and former politicians) have publicly endorsed the movement, yet so few have actually shown up to show their support. It would make a world of difference in the way the occupation is "handled"

13. I think that too many politicians feel like it would end their career
Trading power for doing the right thing is a tough choice to make for many.
