Bachmann Accuses Bush of Socialism

In her soon-to-be published book, Core of Conviction, Rep. Michele Bachmann accuses former President George W. Bush of "socialism" for his 2007 decision to bail out financial institutions that were near collapse, ABC News reports.

Writes Bachmann: "The Bush administration, which had always professed faith in the free-market system, was now reversing its course."

She says Bush and then Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson were embracing a kind of "bailout socialism."

2. I remember a column by the late Meg Greenfield
in which she recalled an encounter she had at the 1964 GOP convention, with a man who believed Richard Nixon to be a card-carrying member of the Communist Party.

18. Are you kidding? REAGAN couldn't get elected as a Republican today

If Ronald Reagan had been elected president in 2008 and he ran his administration the way he ran it in 1980, the press wouldn't publish pictures of Ronnie riding his horse and chopping firewood, they'd publish pictures of him using his Cat 966 front-end loader with 4-cubic-yard bucket to clean all the teabags off the White House lawn.

4. I'd like to know why we've not heard from any of the 26 or however many children
that she supposedly fostered (though we now know most were for a few days/weeks)..... Does no one think it strange that we've not heard glowing comments from scores of these kids, now adults?

Hmmmm....

10. Good. For independent voters, keeping Bush's role in this visible
will likely soften the impact of socialist accusations used against Obama. At least with respect to the bailout.

12. Anything Bachmann disagrees with is, in her disturbed mind,
an existential threat to America.

It wouldn't surprise me if someday she was found wandering aimlessly through downtown Stillwater, MN, dressed in a Wonder Woman costume and raving to the lampposts about the international communist conspiracy.

19. BTW, will she be telling us who WROTE her book for her?
Bachmann would never come up with a sentence like that-with correct grammar and spelling.
