Occupy protests around the world: full list visualised

The Occupy protests have spread from Wall Street to London to Bogota. See the full list - and help us add more

"951 cities in 82 countries" has become the standard definition of the scale of the Occupy protests around the world this weekend, following on from the Occupy Wall Street and Madrid demonstrations that have shaped public debate in the past month.

We wanted to list exactly where protests have taken place as part of the Occupy movement - and see exactly what is happening where around the globe. With your help, adding events in our form below, we've been able to show 750 Occupy events world wide.

As we wrote this week:

Protests inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and the "Indignants" in Spain have spread to cities around the world. Tens of thousands went on the march in New York, London, Frankfurt, Madrid, Rome, Sydney and Hong Kong as organisers aimed to "initiate global change" against capitalism and austerity measures. There were extraordinary scenes in New York where at least 10,000 protesters took their message from the outpost of Zuccotti Park into the heart of the city, thronging into Times Square.

So, we have started listing all the events we can find verified news reports for. There's not 951 yet, but we do have most of the major ones. You can see them mapped here:

1. so if there was any doubt about a group of rich corps/people that coordinate global events...
I think those doubts have just been put to rest.

3. Yes, I have to agree....
The activities to begin to remove Canadian occupiers are happening at the SAME time as the action in the U.S. and elsewhere. Any doubt I had about this being coordinated is gone :

"City officials issued eviction notices to Occupy protesters in both Toronto and Calgary on Tuesday, as authorities in multiple Canadian cities grew impatient with the tent encampments that first sprang up nationwide in mid-October.

The showdowns come the same day police moved Occupy Wall Street protesters out of a park in Manhattan.

In Toronto, the city began issuing eviction notices at 10 a.m. ET and called on protesters who have been in the downtown park for more than a
month to leave immediately."

Occupy Toronto won a temporary reprieve from eviction today. The police here have not used the brutish tactics being used in the U.S., I can only hope that continues.
