They keep playing clips of the Sandusky interview -- is he medicated?
I'm stunned his attorney permitted him to do that, so I was wondering if Sandusky maybe just slammed down a fistful of Valium and did it without the attorney's okay.

None of the hosts/guests have mentioned how out of it he sounds, so maybe it's just me.

1. His attorney is a real prize--he knocked up a teen girl when he was in his forties. NT

2. Maybe he was busy when Sandusky called to ask him if he thought it would be okay
to go on NATIONAL TV with BOB COSTAS! Just bizarre.

Did the attorney get charged?

6. The attorney is giving bizarre quotes of his own:
Edited on Tue Nov-15-11 02:30 PM by beac
In another interview, Mr. Sandusky's attorney, Joseph Amendola, said he planned to contend Mr. Sandusky "is a big overgrown kid" and was "horsing around" in the alleged incidents outlined nine days earlier in the grand-jury report. Mr. Sandusky, 67 years old, faces 21 felony counts of sexually abusing boys he met through the children's charity he founded, the Second Mile.

"The bottom line is, jocks do stuff like that," said Mr. Amendola, who is based in State College, Pa., in an interview with CNN late Monday. "When you take it apart complaint by complaint, we have answers for" each of the eight allegations listed in the grand-jury document.

So, however stupid the strategy of trying to normalize Sandusky's behavior as "horseplay", his lawyer seems to be on board with it.

12. He MARRIED her! They're no longer together. And she was sixteen when he
engaged in what would be termed statutory rape in many states (but not PA, apparently), in essence. Not only was he fiddling around with an emancipated child (that he emancipated), he was also fiddling around with "the help."

What a prize!

Birds of a feather.

Amendola, 63, married the girl several years after the birth of their child, The Daily reported Monday night, citing documents filed at the Centre County, Pa., courthouse.

Amendola represented a 16-year-old girl then known as Mary Iavasile when she filed an emancipation petition in September 1996. The emancipation petition said the girl had graduated from high school in two years with a 3.69 GPA and held a fulltime job at Amendola's law office.

The girl gave birth to Amendola's child when she was 17 years old, her mother, Janet Iavasile, said. Amendola would have been about 49 years old at the time. The age of consent in Pennsylvania is 16.

Janet Iavasile said she didn't know the extent of the relationship between her daughter and the attorney. She thought he was more of a mentor than a paramour.

"She was interested in law," the mother said.

10. I think he'll be nailed on this. More and more victims keep
coming forward.

You have to wonder how many people were aware, and at the mind-set that allowed them to keep quiet about it. Hell, even an anonymous call could have gotten the ball rolling.

7. His attorney will probably attempt
an insanity defense, and this rambling interview will be used to make his point.
