Taking virtual bets on how long Gingrich gets to drive the clown car
We all know that it's going to be Lurch who eventually ends up in the driver's seat. So, Fathead Newton must know that his time as the front running clown will be all too brief before he self destructs too. He may be a adulterous, lying, swindling and heartless self-promoting bastard with delusions of grandeur, but a least he's not a complete fucking moron.

So how long will he poll on top?

One week? Two? And entire freaking month?

Give us the exact number of days, if you don't mind.

Leave your guesses here, bookmark this thread and we'll all meet back here when the Corpulent Corporatist officially drops out of first place to find out who wins…

Winner gets a shiny new No-Prize

My official guess is 27 days… My favorite number.

2. I don't know...it could be that the establishment likes it odds with Newt and Romney being on top.
They may let him hang around until the end.

8. You can't be serious
No way Gingrich will last that long… Gingrich is so crooked that when he dies they'll have to screw him into the ground. That shit is going to catch up to him real quick. Remember, he resigned as Speaker of the house because his own caucus was hunting for his fat head?

The man is incapable of leading, only polarizing. Not Presidential material at all.

I'm sorry, but his days on top are numbered.

What makes you think they are looking for a leader? On the contrary, the establishment is looking for someone who will follow the agenda.

18. Well, he's not even leading in GOP polls right now
He's just in second place merely by default at this moment

I think that that's all too temporary for a guy who's regard for ethics is exactly same one that everyone else has for toilet paper.

6. This turkey will be carved up by Thanksgiving
As Calvin Trillin remarked when Drudge first "broke" the story of Clinton's dalliance with Monica Lewinsky, "This will cost Newt Gingrich his job!" Newtie doesn't handle the spotlight very well. His propensity for popping off will torpedo his candidacy and return him to single digits within 14 days. For the sake of the "bet," I'll say November 28.

9. Wait until they start excavating his past.
He hasn't had to answer any of those pesky questions yet.

He'll be done before the new year.

10. POLL Over!
It seems, as of 13 Nov., Gingrich is NOT number one, he's number two behind Lurch.

I should have checked this shit earlier.

We'll start this over if or when Fat Boy takes first place.

Sorry about this.

11. I think he can win the nomination
His dirt got aired early and he survived. He is willing to go negative. He isn't Mitt Romney. The only question is if he wants it. He's always had the feel of someone in it to make money after losing. Now he's finally getting positive face time, he might be ready to go to the $$. He can beat Romney on the issues and campaigning, but no one knows if he wants to do the hard work to actually do it. All signs from early in this race was that he doesn't. Of course he's got a huge ego so perhaps he will now "go for it" since he suddenly got the lead. Who thought McCain could use his momentum to actually win? 4 years ago McCain looked like a guy who would eventually lose to the "real" candidate.

12. I'm not so sure Newt isn't going to get the nom..
He's familiar, he's just despicable, not a complete idiot and he can speak in complete sentences. I lived near his district and know people who have interacted with him and they say he's actually pretty pleasant when he's not in front of a camera, the M$M crews like him because he doesn't treat them like furniture the way a lot of high powered people do..

I know quite a few wingnuts and I can't think of one that really despises Newt the way they do Willard.

Newt may just end up being the not-Willard that walks out of the arena.

I think this post might give me a bit of cred on the issue.

14. 17 days. Two weeks from Friday.
Thanksgiving Week, Newt can baste in his own juices.

Then, enter Jeb. The 'establishment' GOPer.

You know, they're only going to let us have fun for so long. Jeb / Christie is the ticket. Everyone dislikes Romney.
