A deer is dazed and standing in the middle of the road. The cop and another car are stopped. Watch the cop and watch this to the end.

Yeah, there are some bad cops. For sure. I have always contended, however, that bad cops are the exception, not the rule. I hope this helps restore some balance to the recent press cops have been getting.

And no. I have NO defense of that raging, roided up captain in NYC.

2. There are plenty of great police officers, they just don't get any attention, sadly.
But they should.

40. No, it's because when crimes are committed, which they are on
a far too regular basis by people employed to DEFEND and PROTECT the public, it is a serious problem that in fact, doesn't get enough attention, otherwise it would not be so pervasive.

48. That police officer, when and if ordered, would be part of the police force that tears down
protestors' tents and camps.

There will come a time, if this continues, that police officers such as the one who appears here will have a choice to make. The longer the police forces of our country continues to do what they have been doing, the more disgraceful it becomes to be one.

If the "good" cops have any say so whatsoever they better exercise that influence from the inside.

Unfortunately, I don't believe they have such influence when the shots are being called from the top.

So, they comply with the orders given or they quit. It's the system, and I will not be able to excuse the "good cops" for too much longer.

If he was ordered to evict someone or to riot control, he'd do it. He is owned by the corporations like the rest of the country is.

41. We know that over 700 police officers were 'deployed' to
attack a small number of peaceful protesters in Oakland, and not one of them refused to take part in that action against the people they are supposed to protect. We also know that not one of them has identified the criminals who nearly killed a US Veteran simply trying to walk home who was beaten by a bunch of cowardly thugs who ruptured his spleen then denied him medical help for 18 hours, or their cohorts in the prison did.

If there are good cops on that force, where are they? Not to mention that criminal who stole, literally, the speech of Iraq/Afghanistan veteran Scott Olsen and is now too cowardly to identify himself.

That doesn't include, on that same night, the moron who rammed his car into a crowd of people, putting two of them in the hospital and then allowed to go free by the cops. Or the dozens of others badly wounded who were not identified.

And that was just one night of police riots against the American people, 700 of them, with not one so far speaking out against that despicable display of violence against the American people who were exercising their Constitutional rights.

I agree with EFerrari above, it's about time this issue is addressed and some reform put in place, because clearly many of these public employees whose salaries WE pay, need to go, and expecially their leaders. We need to establish a police force that serves the people, NOT the corporations and we do not need a military force on the streets of the US acting like they are on enemy territory.

If they want to be respected, the better start acting like decent, professional human beings, rather than like the thugs we've been seeing over the past several weeks.

Nobody dares break the Blue Code of Omerta.

So in my book, cops get classified either as openly vicious thugs who commit the crimes of unlawful violence, or as cowardly quislings who turn the other way instead of doing the right thing.

Both groups get my contempt. In fact the second group I find particularly loathsome for the same reason people are repulsed by Joe Paterno - he turned the other way too.

it took sometime for the fawn to come back to the world. It appears this one lost it spots.... little bums are heavy (because they are dead weight)...rubbing them, blankets and just reassuring them brings them around..

Now if I can only get rid of the twin 6 point bucks that won't leave me along....they cause some mischief the other morning in my yard. They will walk right up to me.

It seems you agreed and disagreed??

I would also say that the inverse is also correct, those cruel to people will in turn be cruel to animals. It works both ways.

36. What's ironic, is that cops were being looked upon
with respect again. After the 60's, cops just were not trusted, and it has been a long road back to trust. Now, again the trust is broken. The videos I've seen of these cops, make me ill. The fact that a noble profession has now spiraled down into 'pig' territory again, is just plain sad. I understand about doing your job, but you could be kind about it. These cops are raging assholes, and the rest of the blue line is allowing them to tarnish their good name.

Too, too sad.

what do you reckon the odds of him upholding that law are? If one of his peers should abuse someone for the sheer hell of it, what are the odds he'll testify against them?

The good cops could drum out the bad cops if they were the majority. Since they don't they're either not the majority or they aren't actually good.
