I just don't understand why the cops think that breaking up OWS is going to win any fans.

If I were a mayor or the chief of police, I would totally ignore the protesters and hope that they got bored and went away. Any other reaction and you just look like a jackbooted thug.

what he wants them to do. I certainly don't agree with the Billionaire mayor, but know that the NYPD chief of Police is going to do his bidding.

The better question is, why did New Yorkers vote this POS in as mayor to begin with?

2. Here's an answer you're not going to like to hear...
The Police aren't trying to break up the protests, and haven't arrested anyone for protesting. The only arrests have been for blocking traffic or refusing to stop the "occupation" component of Zuccotti Park, which was violating a variety of health and fire codes, passed years ago by Democratic City Councils and Democratic Mayors.

The OWS people have focused so much on the "occupy" component of their protest, I sometimes think they've lost their focus on the "Wall Street" component.

6. I think that's bullshit
The police are doing the bidding of their masters who are definitely trying to stop the protests. To believe otherwise is a fool's error.

4. He's training to become a SWAT.
With his experience as a Marine I doubt that he will fail. :patriot:

5. What makes you think the police are making the decisions?
Just because we don't see the immense pressure the 1% can apply on Mayors and others doesn't mean it isn't there.
