2. If I planned on picking a fight (for whatever reason) I'd want to have the tactical advantage.
Edited on Wed Nov-16-11 10:11 AM by OneTenthofOnePercent
I'm not so sure it's cowardice as planning ahead. Preparation =/= Cowardice
Like cramming/studying for a test... I wouldn't call those who studied scared of earning a bad grade.
These guys came to pick a fight and they're equipping themselves to guarantee a win.

The fact that they're armed describes their intent more so than than their chivalry/bravery.

As the saying goes:
If you ever find yourself in a fair fight... your tactics were flawed.

4. You kinda missed the point
Only cowards are afraid of people using their first amendment rights, and thus feel the need to arm themselves against such protesters.

You're few steps too far down the road, talking about 'once I've decided to arm myself'.

5. Respect for civil rights is a two way street.
OWS are not the only ones with rights. Neighbors and local businesses have rights too. Perhaps if the OWS demonstraters had more respect for other people rights, the cities would not have had to evict them.
