3. That happened at UIowa night before last. They sent out
an alert to all students and employees based on the head of campus security monitoring the scanner for the IC police in which a woman had called in to report that her abusive significant other was making threats on the phone to do harm to her and that he said he had a gun. However, it was called off after they discovered that the significant other was in another city about an hour and a half away and that he didn't have a gun.

There were no reports of shots fired.

Police received a call at about 10:15 a.m. ET from someone who reported seeing a man on a street adjacent to campus with what appeared to be an assault rifle, the Greenville Police Department said.

Police used traffic cameras to pull up images and saw a man wearing a backpack and carrying what appeared to be a weapon similar to an assault rifle in his right hand, police Sgt. Carlton Williams said.

5. It could be simply someone bringing their rifle to a gunsmith or something...
